The Skills Guarantee is a TestOut program that helps you get a job in IT, including jobs in areas like technical support, desktop support, network administration, or systems administration.
All the qualifications an employer looks for when considering candidates are meant to answer the basic, critical question, “Do you have the skills to do the job or not?”
As you apply and interview for jobs this spring and summer, the Skills Guarantee is a tool you can add to your job prospecting tool belt.
Instead of just a certification, class, or hours of experience, you will be able to say to an employer, “I passed my course and this Pro certification from TestOut and qualify for the Skills Guarantee. TestOut guarantees that I possess the skills that I was certified on and will pay you $500 (if the job is part-time) or $1,000 (if the job is full-time)* if you hire me but find that I don’t possess these skills.”
You will need to work with your instructor to get the Skills Guarantee certificate. The Skills Guarantee certificate does not replace your Pro certification certificate; it goes along with it. In many cases, the employers you speak with will want to know the specific skills that TestOut is guaranteeing. Below are the exam objectives for each TestOut Pro certification. These are the skills that you will discuss with employers.
